What to do with a new Pom-Pom Maker?

Make bunnies of course! My children love to draw creatures, pick out some fabric and have me sew them together. So, when the new pom-pom makers from Clover arrived, my wonderful children had me bring their uniquely-designed bunnies to life. I have tried several pom pom makers and have to say this is my favorite. It is so simple to use and makes perfect fluffy pom poms.

Like our other creations, we hastily sketched our designs and cranked up the sewing machine just to 'go for it.' Our favorite is the mutant bunny made of fleece and recycled sweaters.

I used the felt flowers from the April 2007 Scrapbooking Society kit for several of the bunnies. Love using up those supplies!

BTW - I got a wonderful box from Clover today with some great new tools. Watch for their debut in several upcoming kits. Cya later! Melynda

I love wool felt. I cannot seem to get enough of it lately. Needle felting or wet felting it doesn't matter to me they are all fun to experiment with. I love the surprise of what is going to happen when you "wet" felt. And I love the pattern I can create with needle felting.

I had fun this afternoon and created another felted ball bracelet for the store.

And I got to add my other new favorite; cracked glass beads.

Easter ATC Swap

I love Swaps!!! I would participate in one every week if I had time.

I love getting back other people's work and giving myself a reason to sit down and create. If only there was more time in the day.

Check out the Easter ATC swap on I love 2 Create.

I used some of my favorite vintage Easter images for my ATC.

April 2007 SBS kit preview is here!

It's that time again! Sneak peek of the April 2007 Scrapbooking Society kit features a wonderful technique: Stampbord. You can create so much with these pieces.

Of course, being SBS, we also include a scratch knife along with several assorted sizes of stampbord to play with. And this month we have a Complete Tool kit as an add-on!

Our papers are Zsiage and American Craft. These patterns really POP.

3....2....1....Dream!

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

Only three days to go until Il2C goes "live." This new adventure has been keeping me insanely busy, and has even become a recurring character in my dreams at night.

Thanks to the help of the many people who believe in me (and don't think I've totally lost it), IL2C is yet another dream come true in my life. Just like her sister, The Scrapbooking Society, she is already proving to be both challenging and rewarding.

I'm putting the finishing touches on the store (and the rest of the Web site, ugh!) and am getting very excited about the debut. Many of you have asked why I didn't hire someone to do the site for me. Like most of you reading this, my middle initial is "D.I.Y." Enough said.

On launch day there will be tweaks, a few hiccups, and other catastropic events you won't see on your side of the computer screen. Still, like any family in its early days, we'll focus on being where we need to be today, and dream about where we want to go tomorrow.

See you next week! Melynda
